Emily Gaskin is the Executive Officer for the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law. Previously, Mrs. Gaskin practiced maritime law with the firm Cox, Wootton, Lerner, Griffin & Hansen, LLP in Honolulu. Prior to attending law school, Mrs. Gaskin worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for nine years in Washington, D.C., American Samoa, and Hawaii. During that time, Mrs. Gaskin conducted economic valuation assessments of marine resources and prepared environmental impact statements for multi-use recreational areas throughout the Pacific.

Mrs. Gaskin is a graduate of the Evening Part-Time Program at the William S. Richardson School of Law with a Certificate in Environmental Law. In addition, Mrs. Gaskin holds an M.P.A. from Columbia University in Environmental Science and Policy and an M.S. from the University of London in Applied Environmental Economics. As an undergraduate student, Mrs. Gaskin studied Geography at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and at Oxford University.
