Biography

Storm Stoker is a graduate from University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa with a Masters in Library and Information Science, specializing in archives. She is a provisionally Certified Archivist and a Digital Archives Specialist. Storm supervises the Technical Services student team and with their help, reanimated the book hospital program at the Law School Library. This program offers free book repairs for law students and also works to restore and stabilize historic books from the collection. Learn more

She attended the Rare Book School at the University of Virginia as an IMLS fellow and presented on augmented reality at ATALM in October 2016 and on Fake News in 2017. At the 2018 HLA conference she gave a talk on genetic genealogy research. She is active in professional organizations in the library, archives and genealogy fields. She has her own business called East West Research, specializing in genealogical research.

Originally from Hilo she graduated with a BA in Anthropology from UHH, she then received an MFA in theatre set design from UHM and an MA in Culture and Communications from the University of Sussex, UK.  While studying in Europe she enjoyed extensive travel opportunities and later completed a library internship in Japan.
