Biography

Cory Lenz is the Reference and Instructional Services Librarian and a member of the law faculty at the University of Hawaiʻi, William S. Richardson School of Law.  He currently teaches first-year legal research and writing courses and a course in scholarly research.  Prior to joining Richardson, he was the Research Instruction and Writing Process Librarian at the Charlotte School of Law in North Carolina.  In 2011, he graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law with a JD/MLS and soon after becoming licensed to practice law in North Carolina, joined the Charlotte School of Law.  There, Cory taught first-year legal research and citation classes to the fall-start, spring-start, and summer-start students, not to mention many advanced legal research and writing classes.  He also helped students with their writing as a member of the school's writing center.  This was Cory’s second go-around as a writing counselor; his first was as an undergraduate at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he studied Cinema and Photography, which later led to him joining the Kennedy/Marshall Company in Los Angeles, California, as a Story Editor.
