Leonard Kaplan

Professor Leonard Kaplan received his undergraduate (1962) and law (1965) degrees from Temple University, and an LL.M (1966) from Yale Law School. He received a Ph.D. in Psychology (1977) from the University of Chicago, and he was a Research Fellow at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis.  In 1974, he joined the University of Wisconsin Law School faculty, after other appointments Nebraska and Illinois.  He is also on the faculty of both Jewish and Religious Studies and is on the Steering Committee for Religious Studies. In 2002, Professor Kaplan received the Academy's Michael Zeegers Lifetime Achievement Award for distinction in the pursuit of Scholarship, Pedagogy, and Human Rights Initiaties in the field of Law and Mental Health.
