Biography

Michael Livingston is a partner in the Honolulu law firm of Davis Levin Livingston. Mr. Livingston received his A.B. degree, cum laude, from Harvard University (1970). He was a member of the founding class at the experimental Antioch School of Law, graduating in 1975. He is a member of the California (1976) and Hawaiʻi (1986) Bars, and is also admitted to practice before the United States Federal Courts, including the Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal.

Mr. Livingston’s practice is limited to litigation, and focuses on the representation of plaintiffs in cases involving medical negligence, major personal injuries, substantial commercial disputes, insurance bad faith, and violations of civil liberties. Mr. Livingston has been selected as a “Fellow” in both the American College of Trial Lawyers (currently serving as the Hawaii State Chair) and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America, Hawaiʻi’s Best Lawyers, and Hawaiʻi Super Lawyers. A long-standing member of the American Civil Liberties Union Litigation Committee, Mr. Livingston has chaired that Committee for the past eight years.
