Notes

This “floating” class is open to day and evening students interested in participating in the upcoming World Conservation Congress of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. The course continues Spring and Summer IUCN Workshops courses taken by Richardson Law students. The course will run in a flexible workshop style, focusing on the formal Assembly Motions process of the IUCN. Student interested in environmental law and international law will benefit from the “hands on” experience provided by the IUCN process, which generates “soft law” for years to come. Students enrolled in the course should be able to attend the IUCN WCC on several days from September 1-10, 2016. Work after the Congress will focus on writing projects related to the motions process and Hawaiʻi’s role as the host of the “Olympics of Conservation.”
